Junior Data Scientist/Data Analyst Internship

Paid internship in a Data Science project to transform a set of real-world data into actionable results using Machine Learning and Data Mining technologies. The project is 4-5 month long, with a possibility for full time engagement past that time frame. Required an average of 20-40 hours per week over that time period (depending on availability). You will be working directly with the executives with deep data science background (Oxford & MIT trained).

We are primarily focusing on current Masters students or recent graduates. However, we are open to Bachelors students or graduates if you have the right experience. We are looking for a candidate:

1. Masters degree candidate or Masters holder or BS with 2-3 years experience
2. Training in machine learning, computer science, econometrics,mathematics, statistics or related fields.
3. Enjoy working with large datasets to extract knowledge that drives clients’ business processes and decisions.
4. Experience doing data analytics on large datasets is a definite plus
5. Experience with classifications, clustering, regressions using a variety of algorithms is a plus
6. Experience with Statistical Learning tools such as R, weka, matlab or SAS
7. Experience with healthcare data (claims, EHR or patient) is a major plus.
8. Experience of writing code in python, java or other equivalent is a plus, but not required
9. Motivated to groom into a top quality data scientist

Responsibilities include:
- Data cleansing and data structuring
- Applying machine learning techniques on structured and semi-structured data
- build defection model, segmentation, and behavioral models
- Run statistical test to identify correlations across the data set
- work with chief data scientist to develop algorithms
